Valves (Control Valve, On-Off Valve, PSV, PRV)

Valves are a core part of process piping systems, since they control, regulate, isolate, or direct the flow of fluids (liquids, gases, steam, slurry, chemicals).

    Types of Valves
  • 1. Gate Valve

    Operation: Linear motion, gate disc moves up/down.
    Use: On/off service (not for throttling). Low pressure drop when fully open.

  • 2. Globe Valve

    Operation: Disc moves perpendicular to seat → throttling possible.
    Use: Flow regulation, frequent operation. Good for throttling and control.

  • 3. Ball Valve

    Operation: Quarter-turn, ball with bore.
    Use: Quick shut-off, clean services. Fast, tight sealing, minimal leakage.

  • 4. Butterfly Valve

    Operation: Quarter-turn, rotating disc.
    Use: Large diameter pipes, low-pressure services. Lightweight, compact, economical.

  • 5. Check Valve (Non-return Valve)

    Operation: Automatic → allows flow in one direction only.
    Types: Swing check, lift check, ball check, dual plate.
    Use: Prevents backflow, protects pumps & compressors.

  • 6. Plug Valve

    Operation: Quarter-turn, cylindrical/conical plug.
    Use: On/off in chemical service, gas pipelines. Compact, reliable shut-off.

  • 7. Pressure Relief / Safety Valve

    Operation: Spring-loaded → opens automatically at set pressure.
    Use: Protects equipment from overpressure (boilers, vessels).

  • 8. Control Valves

    Operation: Actuated by pneumatic/electric signal.
    Use: Regulates flow, pressure, temperature in process loops.
    Types: Globe-style, ball-type, butterfly-type with actuators.
    Standards: ISA, IEC.

Pipe & Fittings for process industry

  • Carbon Steel (CS) Pipes

    -Elow: change direction (90°, 45°)
    -Tee: split/merge flow
    -Flange: bolted joints for large pipes.
    -Reducer: connect different pipe sizes.
    - Couplings → join two straight pipes.
    Unions → detachable joints for maintenance
    -Caps & Plugs → close pipe ends.
    -Gasket: fills the microscopic gaps between flanges to prevent leakage of fluids

Welding Rod (Electrode)

Welding Rod (Electrode) used to join two pieces of metal.
